December 17, 2014Life is “a lot simpler” for Rod Copas these days. The 52-year-old rural Onarga resident finally has some time to relax.
No more are the dozens of phone calls Copas had to take on a daily basis as part of his duties as the Iroquois County Board’s chairman. No more are the lengthy county board meetings Copas attended on a monthly basis, to go along with numerous committee meetings each month.
Copas is no longer an elected official. After losing his re-election bid last spring, Copas stepped aside from the Iroquois County Board seat he had held for the past six years on Dec. 1.
